Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes. (HPL, The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath)
Cultists have gathered from the dark corners of the world. Preparing the seals that keep the Elder Gods locked away from entering our realm. Ready to usher in the new age of madness. Now go forth and bring your Elder God from the void!
We at Strange Aeon Games have created a series of short videos in order to introduce you to a few of the cards from Cthulhu: Age of Madness, as well as showcase some aspects of gameplay. The fourth in the series presents Azathoth, and the Azathoth Elder God card,
Azathoth exists outside the ordered universe, at the center of all infinity, and we exist as Azathoth’s dreams. Azathoth appears as a shapeless, amorphous mass of chaos.
At the start of a game of Cthulhu: Age of Madness, players choose an Elder God from the four Elder God cards included with the game; Yog-Sothoth, Nyarlethotep, Cthulhu, and Azathoth. The Elder God Card is placed on the table in front of the player, and, as seals are unlocked during gameplay, they are placed on one of the four corners of the Elder God Card. Each time a Seal is unlocked, it triggers the Elder God's Cosmic Primal Power. Azathoth’s Cosmic Primal Power allows the Player’s Hand Size to increase by one (1). This is cumulative for each unlocked Seal, however, the bonus is lost if Seals are relocked. Cards associated with Azathoth have Ribbons and Wax Seals colored Blue.
